Senior Social Media & Community Manager
New Moon Production is a remote working Hamburg based studio, bringing new and exciting games to the market. Since its founding in 2016, it has released multiple games on different platforms, including the much beloved Sunshine Island, with around 12 million unique players already.

Now, we are seeking a Senior Social Media & Community Manager to lead the social presence and community strategy for BIG Franchise’s upcoming global-launch title. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the creative voice, identity, and player-facing storytelling of our new game across all major social platforms - from day-one brand building to ongoing channel growth and community engagement.
This role blends creativity, cultural fluency, and operational excellence, ideal for a content leader who understands how to build meaningful, platform-native content for casual mobile gaming audiences. Sitting within Product Marketing and working closely with our game teams, you’ll help define the IP’s positioning across social channels and ensure our franchises communicate a clear, compelling, and authentic identity to players.
YOUR MISSION
Social Strategy & Content Development
- Build and own the end-to-end social media strategy for a new global-launch game and support an established live title.
- Develop platform-native content strategies across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Discord, and emerging channels.
- Create and manage editorial calendars that balance brand building, community engagement, feature milestones, and big marketing beats.
- Ideate, brief, and/or produce high-performing statics, short-form videos, social-first assets, and reactive content tailored to each platform.
- Drive organic channel growth through storytelling, community-first content, and platform-native best practices.
- Drive experiments across channels (formats, posting cadence, narrative structures, content franchises) to unlock growth.
- Monitor channel performance, player sentiment, and competitive trends to continuously refine the strategy.
Community Building & Player Engagement
- Establish and grow a healthy, loyal, and engaged community.
- Manage Discord, VIP groups, and social community spaces, creating programs that deepen loyalty and retention.
- Develop early-stage UGC, ambassador, and creator pipeline opportunities as the community scales.
- Create proactive conversations, playful community moments, and social rituals that players look forward to.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with Product Marketing, Community Managers and Product teams to support feature launches, events, and key campaigns.
- Represent the player perspective internally through weekly reporting, social listening analysis, sentiment trends, and actionable feedback loops.
- Become embedded in game teams, sharing insights on player behavior, culture, trends, and opportunities.
YOUR BACKSTORY
- 3+ years of experience in social media, community management, or social-first content strategy - ideally in games, entertainment, or mobile apps.
- Proven success growing social channels from zero to meaningful scale, especially on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Discord.
- Deep understanding of the casual mobile gaming audience, player motivations, and cozy/simulation game communities.
- Exceptional written and spoken English skills, with strong cultural fluency in the U.S. market. Ability to craft tone, humor, and storytelling that resonate with North American players.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with creative, art, product, and marketing teams.
- Skilled in analytics tools, sentiment analysis, and social listening - able to translate findings into strategy.
- Passion for community building, fostering player connection, and championing player voices internally.
Additional skills to improve us
- Experience launching communities for new games from scratch.
- Background in UGC programs, ambassador pipelines, IRL events, or creator partnerships.
- Familiarity with CRM, VIP management, or live game communication systems.
- Basic production skills (video editing, simple graphic creation, TikTok-native workflows).
